EB is participating in a pilot project for self driving vehicles in the Netherlands

April 28, 2015

The “WEpods” pilot project in the Netherlands could be the first step towards automated driving on Dutch public roads.

The province of Gelderland in the Netherlands is realising a pilot with two self-driving vehicles with no steering wheel nor pedals in the FoodValley region between Ede/Wageningen railway station and Wageningen University & Research centre (WUR) and on the WUR campus.

The so called WEpods vehicles have a hospitality function for foreign guests of the WUR. The pilot not only works on delivering a ready to use system but also on a partnership between companies, governments, and knowledge institutions who will make a joint effort towards automated driving on public roads.

EB supplies electronic horizon components for this project.
